NEPHC Update and Restrictions
This winter has been less than ideal for us hockey players, and because of this we have been forced to make some changes to the 2020 Labatt Blue New England Pond Hockey Classic. In order to execute this event safely, we need everyone's cooperation. The ice conditions and thickness are variable in parts of the Bay that are normally fine. In coordination with both State and Local Officials, the following changes have been made to the 2020 tournament.
The boat ramp is closed - access to the rinks will be from Bay Point & Scenic Park.
Event Shuttle will pick up from Laconia Harley, Hart’s Turkey Farm, Prescott Park and will drop off in the Lago Parking Lot.
Cars, bob houses, ice shanty’s, ice tents are not allowed on the ice.
No fires on the ice.
We have moved the Labatt Blue Zone & Bank of NH Stage into the parking lot at Lago as well as all our official partners and vendors.
There will be no locker room tents on the ice - benches will be placed at each rink for the teams to use before and after their games. We suggest you only bring yourself and your equipment onto the ice.
If at any point during the tournament we do not have the cooperation from our participants and the general public the event will be cancelled.
All changes are all made with the safety of our participants and spectators in the forefront of our mind. This is not the year to hang out on the ice, we understand, this is what you have come to know and love about the Pond Hockey Classic but this year is different. We encourage you to play your games and that is all on the ice. The tournament will not occur without the compliance from our participants & spectators. Please limit your footprint on the ice and instead enjoy your time outside of your games in the Labatt Blue Zone in the parking lot or in town at many of the local bars & restaurants. Although this is not a “normal” PHC year, let us all use it as a reminder that simplicity is the root of pond hockey, and the essence of what we all love about the game.
We look forward to dropping the puck at the 11th Annual Labatt Blue New England Pond Hockey Classic on Friday and making the tournament a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
